Life is lived best leisurely. One of the favourite themes of Istituto Donatello, we truly believe in both working and playing hard, and the entire school clan frequently organises get-togethers and dinners in typical Florentine trattorias.

Nights out to the cinema, theatre, and concerts are indispensable to the impassioned movie and music-madness that pervades the school. Soccer fans will also surely find a cohort to indulge in, and even most of our female students enjoy attending the unique experience of a lifetime at a football stadium in Italy.

In Chianti: Blessed in the heart of Tuscany, Florence is surrounded by various archaic towns and the charming countryside of the Castelli and Chianti Region. A favourite with all our students are trips to wine-producing estates, where the eye-opening technique of wine-making is explained by genuine Chianti winemakers, followed by a most joyful session of delectable wine-tasting.

Trips to timeless village-towns such as Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca, Perugia, Assisi, Volterra, and Urbino, etc., are regular trips that the school enjoys with the students on weekends, holidays, and during local festivities.

Tours to important historic Florentine museums are guided by a History of Art teacher of the school, and are most remarkably educational visits, unique to Florentine art and history.

Other recreational topics of interest include:
jewellery crafting, mountain Hiking and historic city walks, visiting ceramic, terracotta and pottery factories, and Tuscan farms.
